Welcome to my website
A few years ago I started buying 20th Century second hand silk kimono's and obi's from Japan, without much thought as to what I would do with them. These beautiful clothes were to nice to keep stored away so after a discussion with a close friend we decided I should make bags out of them. So this is where my story started.
From then on I have been making bags among other things for family, friends and to give away as gifts. In the process I also managed to raise money for charity from the bags I made.
One of the things that attracts me to using these beautiful silk fabrics is knowing that these Kimono's/Obi's where worn by Japanese ladies in 20th Century and now they have a new lease of life in 21st Century. I also have a love of all things Japanese and was lucky enough to take a trip there in 2010, it was even better than I expected and long to go back again.
Now I am in a position to devote more time to making exclusive items for my new online shop and continue my story.
Hopefully you will like my store and consider a purchase or two as these beautiful garments make lovely exclusive gifts or for that special person...... You!
I donate some of the money I make to Cancer research in memory of my father Jim and brother in law Peter and Great Ormond street children’s hospital, were I spent much of my time as a child.
