Japanese kimono fabric from a used silk kimono which I have unpicked/deconstructed for recycling purposes.
 
Details:
Fabric: Silk - Light to medium weight, has a slight stiffness like its been starched or new, this is due to the inks/dyes used for the plum blossom. There is also a slight sheen which catches in the light due to the fan pattern which is woven into the fabric. The fan pattern is more noticeable on the back.
Colour: Creamy beige background with flowers in peach, teal blue, golden yellow with black highlights.
Condition: Used - In very good condition for a used fabric.
Technique: Dyed/ woven.
Design: The fabric has two designs. It has a woven pattern of tiny fans which is more noticeable on the back. Over the top, a pattern of plum blossom has been added, not sure which technique was used.
Age: Unknown.
Origin: Japan.
