Japanese kimono fabric from a used silk kimono which I have unpicked/deconstructed for recycling purposes.

Details:
Fabric: Silk - light weight slightly sheer with a crepe feel.Colour: Black, cream (more of a yellowy cream due to age) and dark orange. Please note the cream colour in the photo's is slightly paler than it actually is. It should be more yellowy cream.
Condition: Used - Very good condition for a used fabric and its age. The cream has turned more yellowly with age. It shows signs the kimono had previously been deconstructed and sewn back as a bolt which means it has been cleaned in the past then remade.
🌸50 cm x 35 cm has a small mend and a tear near the selvedge. See photo's.
🌸100 cm x 35 cm in good condition.Technique: Dyed.
Design: Ornate pattern with touches of dark orange on some of the flowers like berries.
Age: 1950-1980.
Origin: Japan.

Kimono fabric - Upcycle - Silk - Floral Arabesque - Black, cream, dark orange
- Kimono fabric is quite narrow compared to normal fabric which is sold be the metre, this is because its made purely for kimono construction. Unlike western clothes which require lots of pattern pieces and styles, kimono are constructed much more simply and only the collar requires cutting out all other pieces are just cut to length and sewn together. Please check you are happy with the width before you purchase.
- With vintage or secondhand fabrics on some occasions you may find a small imperfection which is to be expected with these types of fabrics. If it was a significant imperfection I would mention it in the listing.
- Items are not washable, please consult professional dry cleaners for advice if required or do a test sample before washing.
