Japanese obi fabric from a used obi which I have unpicked/deconstructed for recycling purposes.
The fabric is attached to the lining by two seams down the sides so you could remove the back and use for another project. Both ends will be cut so will have a raw edges.
Details:
Fabric: Silk.
Colour: Jet black (Some of the photo's the fabric looks grey but it is black, its just the light refection from the silk). You will notice orange thread woven in on the inside this is just from the origional obi and the colour is not showing on the outside - see last photo.
Condition: Very good for a used fabric, with only a sllight fold line down the middle.
Design: Plain.
Lining: Plain. Jet black.
Obi type: Taken from the middle section of a fukuro obi.
Age: Vintage.
Origin: Japan.
